I just got my 3dc in the mail the other day and started to install. After getting everything routed the way i wanted, I started playing with swapping colors to get use to the way it works. Doing this by hand clicking the switch and running the filament in and out. I noticed that every time I do anything with #3 it moves color #2 in the opposite direction at the same time. I know that isn't right. See attached video. Do I have the 3dc assembled to tightly? after homing it does a little better but after running through 3 or 4 changes it starts having the problem again.
Any ideas?
setup: don't mind the mess as I tore it apart to try and fix the problem. I was originally going to run the Y-pipe directly on the extruder but I'm not sure it will work very well as it weighs more then expect. I was hoping to save time on color swaps with a shorter path. Any ideas on how to do this without having the ptfe tube between the Y-pipe and extruder bend super bad? But this is rather minor problem.
You need a straight (or longer) ptfe tube to prevent it from being bent... also, if you tighten the screws to tight over the selector, it can cause exactly the #2/#3 cross talk because it can't get all the way to #3. There isn't a picture attached, so can't tell what you're talking about, but if you attach one, maybe I can suggest some changes. (By the way, if the bend works, then it'll be fine as long as the PTFE tube doesn't slip out of the bottom of the Y... but it's best not to have high friction areas.)
