Hey Bill! Nice to see you again at 3DPT. :)
I have the behemoth S1 and a spare Mk3 kit. It runs Klipper, but no ssh access (yet), so I'm hoping I can just write klipper macros.
I need a filament cutter, but dont want to dig into a tool head design (though we all know that's best). Is there a remote filament cutter? One I can tie into a servo or pwm channel?
Next, what kind of control board should I use with Klipper? I have an ERCF dual stepper control board with a number of inputs and outputs (and LEDS! lol). Has anyone adopted this to the 3DChameleon yet?
Or, should I try to adopt the Mk3 control box. I can handle all the clippers and firmware stuff. But if you have any ready-made macros, that will save a lot of time! :)
Thanks again Bill!
Remote filament cutter... you can easily just add a PTFE coupler to the existing designs and connect it to our electronics (running Mk4 firmware). It'll just work after that. As for the control board and/or macros... search this forum, several folks have developed a set of macros to run it directly... however, you can also just use our tool change gcode to run it... take a look at our Creality K1 profiles for examples on how it works... it uses no macros and is all done in the slicer.
As for the ERCF stuff, I've never messed with it, nor have I seen anyone with it... so can't help there.
Bill
