Installed a 3D Chameleon on a Creality Ender 3 V2 over the weekend. Having the following issues and would love any help and or wisdom the forum can provide.
1) BLTouch device auto-leveling routine seems to be pushing the 3D Chameleon's activation switch prematurely and for too long causing to timeout. Have tried decreasing the auto-leveling touch points on the BLTouch device but still having 3D Chameleon timeout issues.
2) I have a lot of slack in the PTFE tubing after the Y adaptor and not much between the 3D Chameleon Stepper Motors and the Y adaptor which is different from the installation videos on Youtube. See attached photo. Is this an ok configuration or will it cause issues loading and unloading different filament colors?
3) General filament loading question. Should one filament color be loaded all the way to the extruder at the start of a print or should all filament colors be loaded to the Y adaptor only at the start of a print?
Look forward to your responses.
OK, I'll check out Chuck's video. Here are a couple more pics that may show "The path for filament, when introduced from the top".
Well... that's a big flaw in the design of your extruder. Can you show me more about it? The path for filament, when introduced from the top, should not have any openings large enough for the filament to escape. Here's a great video from Chuck on exactly what he did to fix his... maybe it can help you. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=az7pysnV_MY
How do I stop this?
That looks much better! :-)
I finished reinstall.
Thanks.
Right here: https://www.amazon.com/Metalwork-Compression-Fitting-Straight-Connector/dp/B07CX9PD4K/ref=sr_1_4?dchild=1&keywords=4mm+compression+fitting&qid=1632342218&sr=8-4 It's just a 4mm compression fitting.
where do I get the tool to crimp on the ferrules.
Thanks Bill. This info is very helpful.
Both of those are easy to get items from eBay or Amazon.
PTFE tubing comes in bags of 5 for about $15.
And the brass fittings are 4mm Brass Ferrules for compression fittings.
Here is a link to them on Amazon.

As
As I used almost all of the PTFE tubing and brass fittings from my installation kit; where would I get the new brass fittings to hold the PTFE tube into the 3d Chameleon extruder? Would you be willing to send and or sell me the extra parts at a reasonable price that I would need to redo my installation correctly?
2) You've installed it incorrectly, the long tubes go from the 3D Chameleon and the Y adapter to the extruder should be no more than 4" long.
If you so it this way, it will be very slow and you can potentially unload the filament from the 3D Chameleon while it is retracting.
3) Using our GCode Generator, you simply need to load the filament to 1" before the Y adapter for each color.
