Finally getting around to mounting everything after the holidays. I had to make a few custom brackets for the limit switch and the extruder. The extruder bracket that you suggested was to big to fit in the space that the ender 3 has, the z screw is to close the point where the filament enters the extruder so I made a clamp style bracket to hold the hose in place, after a few tests it seems to work pretty good (see attached photos) I do have a few questions, maybe someone can answer them for me here:
Does the mk3 gcode generator not work with cura? will I have to start using the prusa slicer? I currently only use cura but when I go the the website there is no option to get code for cura .
When the color changer is pushing the filament into the stock extruder is it supposed to be able to push right through the extruder and into the nozzle ? or does the code also turn the extruder motor in addition to the color changer to help it along? mine currently just jams at the extruder motor (during tests, not yet using the gcode generated on the website)
thanks in advance!
Mike
hey mike I'm using the ender 3 classic and it looks like maybe you are as well? would you mind sharing the files for the end stop you have there? It looks like you have something riding on top of the print head and a paddle of sorts. Thanks
Our gcode generator automatically starts up the extruder about 1" before the filament reaches it so the 3D Chameleon is pushing at the same time as the extruder is pulling it in. And as for Cura, they have a bug that prevents the 3D Chameleon from working correctly... but since it "doesn't effect our printers, we are deferring fixing this." So... until it's problem on an Ultimaker, they're not going to address it.

Answered my own question, sorry. I now see cura is not a viable option … Cura is dead to me haha
