No, in fact, I've never mounted it that way. There are two paths you can take on the X1... one is through the PTFE tube slot on the back (not inside the tube, but through the rubber grommet... and the other is through one of the adjustment slots on the back... but you need to take the back cover off to route the cable... but once you do, it's easy... then you can reinstall the back.Bill
