I've been fighting setup for a bit and looks / sounds like I have most things correct, but I cannot make the extruder feed the 2 filaments closest to the extruder (0 and 3??). One is free and a filament can easily slide in and out, the other is difficult to get a filament down at all. All filaments are form the same manufacturer and size. When trying to feed the tight side I just get motor buzzing sounds from the extruder.
When looking through the extruder I can see a slight indention on the 2 properly feeding filaments made by the tensioner bearings on the side. The two filaments that aren't feeding have both a full open circle and a circle that is half covered by the tensioner bearings. Is it possible a dimention is slightly off causing feeding problems? Is there a quick fix for this or does it need to be sent back / documented / etc??
Resolved my biggest issue... the set screw was not tightened and fell out when removing everything for fit up on the new bushings. Filaments 0 and 4 feed better now, but 0 doesn't quite move as much as all other filaments when feeding outside of a print. Gotta tear it down again and get the different spacers in. Hopefully that solves everything.
Thanks for the help so far.
Try printing out a new set of A+ parts... they're slightly longer to allow for the motor to be pushed out farther towards those two extruders.
You can find them here: https://www.printables.com/model/516300-3dchameleon-replacement-a-parts Also, make sure the screws are snug holding the top to the motors... if they're loose, it will allow it to flex and separate from the drive gears.
Lastly, you can also increase/adjust the tension by using a new set of tension tuning sliders (also known as bearing carriers) which allow you to adjust both the bearing to gear position as well as the spring's preload tension. You can find them on Tinkercad right here:
