Trying to decide

I’m really straddling the fence on going with 3D Chameleon as an MMU for my machine. One reason is that I am still hurting from buying a Co Print MMU. A total bad experience so far.

I want a unit that will work with my Artillery Sidewinder X1 direct drive (which I love) and I want to be able to get support when needed.

Please tell me your opinions, including warts and all.

And yes, I answer these here, as well. :-) Now, with that said, the Sidewinder's antique Titan based extruder is horrible with the 3DChameleon... they do not reliably load properly like a modern extruder does. It's highly recommended you avoid it and swap it with the much better (and stronger) BMG clones.

Do you have any recommendations on a BMG clone?

I printed and built the Sherpa Mini and added a mod to allow using a Collet to hold the boden tube from the 3D Chameleon. This is as effective as a BMG and uses much less space/weight. This is very easy to print and build.
