Hello guys. Im thinking of buying the Mk2. But I need some answers first! Keep in mind I’m new to 3d printing and have only printed a handful of projects.
Question 1
Has anyone used the Mk2 with an Anycubic Mega Pro 3d printer?
Question 2
Will the Ender 3 Cura sample profile work for my printer? Do I have to make any changes to it?
I saw the video on how to set up the profile but its for the ender 3 so I’m not completely sure what all settings I would need to change for it to work on my Mega Pro.
Actually, you can use either as long as it fits on the unit and allows the input and output PTFE tubes to be clear. Generally, if your extruder is on the left, we use the right side and vise versa. That way the "handle" for the filament tension is on the back side (away from the z axis.)
On the Mega series, if you can remote mount a BMG, then you can just have a Bowden tube to the hotend... that way the BMG, the Y adapter and the 3D Chameleon are all fixed in place. Check out my Ender 5 video for an example. That would definitely clear it.

Hey Bill how do you figure out which BMG that you need? (Left or Right) Im debating on getting the kit to make multicolor prints or prints with dissolvable supports. I can put it on my Anycubic i3 Mega or Mega X.Or I can put them on my Cr-10 or Cr-30 printers. Just trying to figure out which is best or which BMG I would need to get. Also if you put it on the Anycubic I3 Mega will the Green connector interfere with the top bar? I know you mentioned how it wouldn't on the ender 3 but it seems like it would for the Anycubic due to where the tube is located in relation to the top arm support.
No, it will not work reliably with the Titan... as they do not have the necessary features and tolerances that allow for hands free loading and unloading. If you do swap it out, you don't need a new motor... only the extruder itself, which can be bought for between $7 and $15 depending on where you shop.
Here is one I use personally: https://www.amazon.com/Extruder-Upgrade-extruder-Anycubic-Printer/dp/B08PXXT74Z Check carefully, however, you might need a right handed version... but both are available. Also, check out my "fix" video on the BMG, as some of them need a small piece of tubing added to allow for a cleaner loading. (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Whgd3YlK16E) Lastly, here it is installed on my Ender 5... little different config (Bowden vs direct), but it's exactly the same hardware and software. The Bowden distance doesn't really matter in this case, as we're just loading and unloading the BMG... everything else is your stock distances, etc. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XNDYXfJqP4E Bill
Will I be fine if I don’t swap the extruded? If I do buy do I need a whole new motor aswell? I found one on matterhackers.com but have to buy the motor separately. I haven’t looked anywhere else. Any recommendations? Also I’m having problems with warping. I just tried printing with a brim but that didn’t help.
The unit is designed to work with any printer. We have several customers who are using the Anycubic Mega (and the various variants of it.) The titan extruder is not a good design for loading and unloading... so it's recommend that you swap it over to a different direct drive design, like the BMG (or clones.) They work perfectly. Everything else is out of the box. As for the profiles, you don't need to create a new one... just simply add our tool change code (from the GCode Generator) to your existing profile that were included with the printer. That avoids the hassle of having to build or tune a profile that wasn't set up specifically for your printer.
