Anybody know if the servo powered filament cutter is included with the mk4 or not?If not please can someone provide any links to purchase or for instruction to make?
Looks like Ender 3 (and similar printers with upright Z pillar higher than the hotend) can use a version of 3DClippy that doesn't require any Servo. Based on this 2023/2 video...
Hoping latest 3D Clippy that relies on a "20kg" capable servo, which weighs ~60g, can be mounted on the frame? Want to keep hotend assembly's weight down. Personally have a CoreXY printer with no extrusion higher than the hotend.
I was considering this leaver style clippy but I think my hotend has slightly different design and would require come CAD work to get it to install properly.Mounting to the frame seems like a good idea for that extra weight issue but I'm assuming it would require a longer purge through the extra length of ptfe tube between the clippy and hotend. Also with that method I would want the clippy to cut a flat face to avoid any point jamming between the filament already in the ptfe. personally I'm wanting it to cut a nice point into the filament to reduce any chances of filament snagging in extruder mechanism during reloads.
From the recent RMRRF YouTube video interview by West3D about 3D Chameleon Mk4 add-ons, it appears to be a metal gear 20kg servo like one shown below in screenshot.
But —the Mk4 add-on parts list to be published soon to verify this.
Saturday is this week as well. lol.

It is not included, and instructions haven't been released yet, but Bill said they'd be released this week, so should be today or tomorrow.
