Hi all. Just purchased an MK2 and am eagerly awaiting its arrival. Looks like both fun and frustration are ahead. I'm installing on an Ender 3 V2 with mostly stock parts.
Biggest issue I have off the bat, having watched the installation video, is the need to remove the filament sensor entirely. Is there a workaround available or in progress to handle filament breaks and unanticipated runouts? Otherwise my vision of the future definitely involves multicolor spaghetti at some point. True, the stock filament filament sensor is barely functional to begin with, but with up to four spools in use the risk of failure is multiplied.
I've seen some inexpensive inline sensors, or even the stock Creality sensor and was thinking theoretically of mounting four of them them somehow between the spools and the extruders. I definitely don't have the electronics knowhow to implement this though.
Physically, I already plan to mount my spools above my Lack table enclosure. To avoid having to increase the headroom in the enclosure, I was hoping to be able to design an effective mount for the MK2 extruders on or above the top as well. My idea would be to mount the sensors up there too. Yeah, my 2x2 real estate is starting to get crowded
Any thoughts would be appreciated, and thank you Bill for the upcoming adventure.
Perfect! Thanks Bill.
