I was wondering if the mk2 is still available for purchase, as I only need 2 color, and don't necessarily want to pay the extra $100. If anyone could help I would greatly appreciate it.
The Mk1 was a 2 color system that was discontinued years ago. It won't work on modern printers due to the new style of stepper motor drivers that are used. The Mk2 was the successor to it which was only 4 colors... The Mk3 is an improved version of the Mk2, which faster color changes and the ability to tune each of the 4 extruders independently. The technology that the old Mk1 used will never work on modern printers, unfortunately, do to their design enhancements. (It's actually why we developed our own electronics and the Mk2 design.)
